Valais wines pull in 22,000 – Vaud next in line
Switzerland’s new wines season kicked off seriously last weekend with the fourth annual Valais wine Open Days 12-15 May, which pulled in 22,000 people to 179 cellars, say the organizers, Vins du Valais.

Swiss wines’ largest fair, Vinea kicks off with Vaud chateaux honoured
The fair, traditionally focused on Valais wines, is extending its reach to include other Swiss winemakers as part of the main offering this year, with two guests of honour: the second is wines from Burgundy’s Cortons hills in France.

Weekend update: The mondial du Pinot Noir in Sierre
In Sierre, 53 judges from 13 countries have gathered for the Mondial du Pinot Noir to taste and rate more than 1,100 Pinot Noir wines, from the grape that made Burgundy famous. The winners of this key international wine competition will be announced 1 September.
